SpellEasy ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the SpellEasy app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
SpellEasy is designed to work on-device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your word lists, practice sessions, or any personal data to any external server. All processing is performed locally on your device using Apple's native frameworks.
Data Stored on Your Device
Your word lists, session history, star ratings, and settings are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. This data never leaves your device unless you use iCloud backup, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Word List Images
When you use the built-in word lists, SpellEasy fetches word illustration images from a public GitHub repository on first use and caches them locally on your device. No personal data is transmitted in this process.
Analytics
We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the product. This data cannot be used to identify you personally. We use Apple's App Store analytics for this purpose.
In-App Purchases
SpellEasy offers optional premium features via subscription. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Children's Privacy
SpellEasy is designed for primary school children and their parents. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app processes all data on-device and does not transmit user data externally.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
